SM-Marks
2 wants to store
preferences in the Windows Registry. For reasons of security on our
network it would be better if access to the Registry was not required.
Is this possible?
Normally when run SM-Marks 2 stores it settings in the Windows
Registry. Examples of the type of information that is stored is the
last used folder in the File|Open command and preferences set in the
Edit|Preferences command. In the Registry information is stored under
this key: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SM-Marks 2.
You can change this behaviour with the Edit|Preferences command. In
this command select the Advanced Options. By setting Use Application
Data folder to Yes, the Windows folder:
\Documents
and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Smmarks2
is used for storing the program preferences.
- This a new feature so
your version of SM-Marks 2 must be dated 15th April 2007 or newer. If
you do not have a new enough version you can download it from here.
