Are there sample reports that show some different possible styles of report?

Here are 12 sample reports, these are intended to show some of the different styles of report. What you see here is just a sample of what is possible, and is not meant to be prescriptive or to limit how a report can look.

Some of the samples are designed for A5 and A4 sized paper and SM-Reports can also print on an A3 page. Actual outcomes are not shown on the samples and instead some fake Latin is used to fill out the reports. Any gauges are randomly filled and the numbers, range and average may not appear to be sensible.

Each report is shown with either Arial or Times New Roman, but SM-Reports can use any font that is installed on your system. Many reports are printed on letterhead that includes the school crest or a watermark, while others have SM-Reports use a bitmap of the school logo to print on the report. No crests or logos are shown here although you see there is often space from one in the top left or right corners.

We like to think that SM-Reports is very flexible.

Sample 1

This report has outcomes and gauges to show performance. Words are used to represent the level of achievement for each outcome and a gauge for the exam and assessment marks. A tick is used to indicate if an interview is expected.
Sample Report 1

Sample 2

This report is very similar to the first, with the only difference being the showing of an assessment rank as a number. Words are used to represent the level of achievement for each outcome and a gauge for the exam and assessment marks. A tick is used to indicate if an interview is expected.
Sample Report 2

Sample 3

This cover page goes with the previous two sample reports. Showing a list of subjects is useful for security reasons, although depending on the amount of space available, only the total number of subjects may be mentioned.
Sample Report 3

Sample 4

This sample report shows how ticks can be used in a table to represent the level of achievement for the personal and the course outcomes. This report uses A4 paper in a landscape orientation to fit two subjects per page. If required this report could be printed on A5 sized paper. The two subjects here illustrate how there can be variations in the marks shown for each subject. Note also how number of outcomes is different for each subject.
Sample Report 4

Sample 5

Reports with SM-Reports are not limited to multi-page reports. This is a one page interim report that is typical of what is popular with years 7 and 11 next the start of the academic year. Some schools use a page similar to this as a cover summary page for a more comprehensive report that follows, Sample 8 shows one of these.
Sample Report 5

Sample 6

This sample doesn't have any new features except it is a single subject on an A5 page printed in landscape orientation. While it has been shown in previous samples, it is worth noting that the sideway printing of the headings in the Course Outcomes table makes efficient use of the limited space.
Sample Report 6

Sample 7

This report is a very typical sample. Ticks are most commonly used to represent levels of achievement in reports done with SM-Reports. Although as shown by the previous reports this is not the only style possible.
Sample Report 7

Sample 8

This cover page shows information from the subject pages that follow. For each subject in the table the Student Performance Level gauge is a copy of the gauge that appears on each separate subject page.
Sample Report 8

Sample 9

Another very typical report.
Sample Report 9

Sample 10

This cover page includes the key that explains what the different levels of achievement mean. This important information is sometimes includes on a second cover page. Some schools use a special pre-printed page for the cover that includes the required keys and explanations on the back of the cover. When printing the reports, the printers is set to print the first page of each student's report using the special cover page from one paper bin, while printing the remaining pages for each student with the paper from a second bin.
Sample Report 10

Sample 11

This is a report for a VET course. It has similar features to the regular subjects, but has different types of column headings for the competencies. The workplace requirements are also included.
Sample Report 11

Sample 12

This is a Life Skills report that is similar to other subject pages but has different levels of achievement and no marks.
