The list below describes what has been changed in SM-Reports with each update. If your copy is not the latest, you can determine what has been added to the program by reading from the top until you reach the date shown in the Help|About command of the copy you are using now.

In general, when a new feature is added the date is changed, otherwise when a change enhances or fixes an existing feature the letter appended to the date is changed.

1st July 2008

Fixed the File|Import|School data command to import all student given names when importing from a TCWINDOW.TXT file.
Fixed the Summary print option of the Print|Reports command to work in all cases.
Fixed the /control/,add keyword in the Template language to work in all cases.
Fixed the Count distribution option in the Report|Definition command to ensure rounding  does not result in a negative percentage.
Fixed the Tools|Synchronise work files command which in rare cases would show an error message and not synchronise a work file.
Fixed the SM-Reports Work File program which was not updating the Statement box when the cell is changed in the grid.
Added a pop-up hint to the School|Subjects command to show long subject names that are not fully visible in the subject drop down list.
Changed the File|New command so when work files are made for all teachers, teachers without a class in the year get a work file as well. This makes it easier to later use the Tools|Synchronise work file command if the teacher then needs to have a work file for the year.
Improved the Print|Reports command to automatically convert the numbers from 1 to 5 into letter grades from A to E when the Count distribution option is turned on for a strand in the Report|Definition command.
Improved the File|Import absences command of the SM-Reports Work File program to convert the hyphen, "-', into a zero, "0".
Removed focussed and focussing from the spell check dictionary..

Fixed the File|Import|School data command to handle OCLASS.TXT, OSTUDENT.TXT and OSTUDY.TXT files made with the Thin Client version of OASIS.
Added some internal code in preparation for the next version of SM-Reports that is compatible with Windows Vista.
Changed the Print|Reports command to make it easier to include the total number of students when
when using the Count distribution option.
Improved the File|Report|Update and Tools|Synchronise work file commands to handle cases where the fields used in the report definition have changed after the work files were made.
Improved the Report|Advanced|Letter map command to allow up to 50 mappings in the Word map for each year.
Improved the File|Import absences command of the Work File program to handle a wider range of text files.
Improved the File|Import activities command of the Work File program to handle a wider range of text files.
Improved the pasting of marks in the Work File program to use the Edit|Advanced|Copy maximum into work file option of SM-Marks 2.

1st March 2007

Fixed the Print|Reports command to print information when the Summary information option is used.
Fixed the Print|Reports command to print the subjects in the same order as the Report|Subject order command when the Summary information option is used.
Fixed the Print|Reports command to correctly start a new page for each student when using the Use alternate template option.
Fixed the Print|Reports command to correctly start a new page when printing in landscape orientation with more than one subject per page.
Fixed the School|Classes command to allow the Units/Link field to allow the field to be non-empty when using the Count distribution option.
Fixed a problem SM-Reports Work File program that is some cases means a change to student results or comment will not update into the main database.
Fixed the Marks button in the Work File program to read SM-Marks 2 markbooks that in some cases do not paste all the outcome Levels of Achievement.
Fixed the Tools|Calculate grades command in the Work File program which in some cases would round the grade up to one grade higher than expected.
Added a new template type for cases where the Use alternate template option in conjunction with a regular cover template.
Added the Options|Scale window command to the SM-Reports Work File program to increase the size of text in the main window when running on displays at a high resolution.
Added the Calculate for all classes and Overwrite existing grades options to the Tools|Calculate grades command of the
SM-Reports Work File program when the Administrator is using the work file.
Improved the Report|Definition command to allow the Count distribution option work with the Result, Result maximum, Grade, Position, Position maximum and Custom 1 fields.
Changed the Tools|Calculate grades command of the SM-Reports Work File program to interpret an entered 0 (zero) as a non-attempt of an outcome.

15th September 2006

Improved the Report|Advanced|Letter map command to allow the Word map to include up to 20 mappings per year.
Improved the Count Distribution option of the Report|Definition command to also count the nine grades for Mathematics from A10 to E2.
Improved the Tools|Create markbooks command to make better markbook names when the subject name has more than two words.
Changed the default file type when using the Marks button in the Work File program to be SM-Marks 2 markbooks.
Added an option to the Tools|Calculated grades command of
the Work File program to allow numeric levels of achievement from 5 to 1 to be converted to the grades A to E.

15th July 2006

Fixed the creation of SM-Marks markbooks which would reverse the student family and given names.
Fixed the
Marks button in the Work File program to always match student names exactly by default.
Added the Summary print option to the Print|Reports command.
Added File|Import activities menu item to
the Work File program to import extra curricular information into a work file.
Changed the name of the Units line in the School|Classes command to Units/Link.
Improved the Marks
button in the Work File program to read markbooks from SM-Marks 2 that are protected by a password.

Changed
the Count distribution option in the Report|Definition command so it only counts grades from A to E.
Fixed the Marks button in the Work File program to read markbooks from SM-Marks and SM-Marks 2 that in some cases do not paste and results.

Fixed the Count distribution option in the Report|Definition command so it works in cases where no students achieve a particular grade.
Fixed the formatting of reports that print more than one template per page to ensure a new page is used when a subject will not fit.
Fixed the Marks button in the Work File program to read markbooks from SM-Marks and SM-Marks 2 that in some cases do not paste and results.
Fixed the Tools|Create markbook command of the Work File program to correctly separate the student family and given names in the created markbook.
Added importing of outcomes from a SM-Marks 2 markbook with File|Import|Outcomes command.
Added Quartiles to the options in the Range "drop down list" in the Report|Definition Definition Details dialog.
Added the Tools|Calculate grades command to the
Work File program.
Changed the dialogue box for the Tools|Synchronise work file command to look more like the File|New command.

Fixed the File|Database|Zip up command to work with any drive letter.
Added the Count distribution option to the Report|Definition command to be used with new templates that meet the Federal Government and NSW DET requirements.
Added the Show teacher list option to the File|Report|Information command to list specific teachers that have incomplete reports.

IMPORTANT! Fixed the Work File program which could allow a work file to be opened more than once.
Fixed the File|Import absences command in the Work File program which would not import absences from OASIS files that previously worked.
Added the File|Export|Statements command.
Added the SM-Marks 2 markbooks option to the Tools|Create Markbooks command.
Added the teacher name to the class list in the School|Class lists command.
Added the SM-Marks 2 markbook option to the Tools|Create markbook command in the Work File program.
Added the Folder button to the Tools|Create markbook command in the Work File program to optionally allow you to select the folder where the markbook is created.
Added the Make multiple backups option to the Options|General command. Choose the Help button of this command for more details. Improved the File|Archive|New command to store the template file SMREPORT.DAT as part of the Archive to allow older templates to be deleted. See these notes for details.
Improved the Tools|Create diskette|Workstation installation command to allow any drive letter to be used.
Improved the Marks button in the Work File program to read Levels of Achievement from SM-Marks 2 markbook files.

15th May 2005

Added the Create work files for head teachers option to the File|New command.
Fixed the File|Database|Backup command which stopped working for back ups that require more than one diskette.
Fixed a problem where category names longer than 30 characters would cause an error in the Report|Statements command.
Fixed the SM-Reports Work File program to better read marks from markbooks created with SM-Marks 2.

Improved the Tools|Synchronise work files command to work better with corrupt work files.
Improved the SM-Reports Work File program to better handle network drop-outs.
Increased the amount of information that can be Pasted with the paste command of the SM-Reports Work File program.
Fixed a problem with the SM-Reports Work File program not allowing enough space for teacher comments in some circumstances.
Changed the SM-Reports Work File program to create a log file if there is a problem saving a work file.
Improved the Tools|Advanced|Quick fix command to handle a previously unanticipated potential data problem.

15th September 2004

Added the new Print|Subjects in year command which not only has the list of subjects in the year but also lists the numbers of classes and students with the subject.
Added the Set Bounds feature to the Report|Definition Details. When you right click on a field in the Report|Definition command you can now bring up a dialogue that allows you to set the expected information to be entered into a work file. Note teachers need to have their copy of the SM-Reports Work File program updated for this to work.
When the SM-Reports Work File program prompts to make a backup you now have a choice of any drive to backup to. This is especially useful for the users of USB/Thumb drives.
The SM-Reports Work File program can now read marks from markbooks created with SM-Marks 2.
Fixed an internal bug in the SM-Reports Work File program that sometimes results in the number of characters allowed for a statement not being accurately set when a work file is used by a year adviser.

2nd February 2004 and earlier

Fixed numerous internal problems related to running SM-Reports on newer versions of Windows.
