Welcome to the SM-Timetable home page. Here you can download a free trial copy of the program. This is the support site for SM-Timetable and includes two tutorials and questions with answers.

You can download a fully working copy of SM-Timetable by clicking on the link below. The file is approximately 3 MB and should take only a few minutes to download even over a slow internet connection. This is a trial copy and you should not download it if you are licensed to use SM-Timetable - in that case visit the Support page for the full program update.

Installing SM-Timetable

To install SM-Timetable on your computer, do the following steps:

Close any applications that are already running
Click on the Start button, and then select Run.
Choose the Browse button to change to the folder with the downloaded file Smttrial.exe.
Select Smttrial.exe and choose Open.
Choose OK.
Wait for the InstallShield to finish preparing to install.
Follow the prompts until the installation is finished.

Trouble installing SM-Timetable?

If you have previously installed an older Trial copy of SM-Timetable you should first uninstall it with the Add or Remove Programs icon in the Windows Control Panel.

The installation program is optimised for Windows XP/Vista. If you are using an earlier version of Windows you can contact SMPCS for a version of Smttrial.exe suitable for your system.

Now you should read the first Tutorial on this website. Even if you don't like doing tutorials, be sure to work through the first one as far as the steps to get the sample timetable, as this will save you a lot of time otherwise spent entering data. Printing it so you can have it next to you while working through it is recommended.

Here are some tips that will help you get started with SM-Timetable.

Running SM-Timetable

It is important to start SM-Timetable from the shortcut in the SMPCS Apps group from the Windows Start menu and Programs section. Later you can learn how to make a desktop icon, but for now please use the installed shortcut.

Administrator password

To run SM-Timetable you need the Administrator password, you can use sunshine which is the default password until you change it.

Expiry date

As a trial version of the software, the program will expire on a set date and will discontinue working.
After installation you can check the expiry date in the When does the trial expire command found in the
Help menu. If you want to continue using SM-Timetable after that date you should organise to
purchase a fully licensed version before then.

Is SM-Timetable the easiest to use timetabling program?

SM-Timetable is actually designed for with regular teachers in mind. Unlike some timetabling system that are best kept locked away in a back room with the "experts", SM-Timetable is intended to be used by all staff on a daily basis.

Learning how to view a student timetable or print a class list takes only minutes.
